Park Shin Hye, PSY, BTOB, And More Donate To Aid Pohang Earthquake Relief Efforts

In order to help the people of Pohang following the earthquake, many celebrities have sent in donations.

According to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, celebrity couple Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young have donated 100 million won (approximately $92,022) to help the citizens of Pohang.

Hope Bridge also revealed that singer PSY had donated 100 million won. The singer wanted to quietly make a donation, which is why the donation was made under his real name, Park Jae Sang. PSY previously donated the same amount during the Seomun Market fire.

Idol group BTOB also participated by donating 50 million won (approximately $46,069). Their donation will be used to aid relief efforts, as well as the reconstruction and restoration of the area.

Actress Park Shin Hye also donated 50 million won, and celebrity couple Sol Kyung Gu and Song Yoon Ah made their donation of the same amount through the Korean Red Cross Society. Pro soccer player Jong Tae Se, who appears on SBS’s “Same Bed Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny,” made a donation of 10 million won (approximately $9,202).

Fans of celebrities have also taken part to aid relief efforts as well. According to the report, SEVENTEEN member Woozi’s fans came together and donated 3 million won (approximately $2,670) as a way to celebrate his birthday.

It has already been about a week since the 5.4 magnitude earthquake hit Pohang, resulting in many injuries and lost homes. The citizens in Pohang are currently still experiencing tremors following the earthquake.
