SHINee's Taemin Says Lee Gikwang And Eunhyuk Revived His Fading Passion For Dancing

SHINee’s Taemin expressed his gratitude to Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Highlight’s Lee Gikwang.

On May 2, the three idols attended the press conference for their upcoming dance show “WHYNOT — The Dancer.”

Taemin talked about his fellow castmates Eunhyuk and Lee Gikwang, saying, “My passion for dancing was fading, but they reminded me that I actually love dancing.”

“Saying that my passion was fading can sound negative. Dancing was my source of happiness back then, and it paved my way to becoming a singer. My love for dancing, however, cannot last forever. There are times when I get sick of it, and there are also times when I like it. My feelings can go back and forth,” Taemin shared.

He also talked about his chemistry with Eunhyuk and Lee Gikwang, saying, “Rather than feeling competition, I feel more enjoyment. Because we each have something we’re good at, we learn from and help each other. I personally really enjoyed filming this show,” Taemin expressed.

Eunhyuk then added, “Lee Gikwang and I really wanted to have Taemin on the show. We even suggested using half the production budget to have him join. The bright energy that he has is very helpful to us.”

“WHYNOT — The Dancer” is a reality show that follows Taemin, Eunhyuk, Lee Gikwang, NCT’s Jisung, and Lia Kim as they take on the challenge of becoming choreographers in Los Angeles.

The show will premiere on May 5 at 8:30 p.m. KST.
