BTOB, NU'EST W, GFRIEND, And More Win At 2018 Asia Model Awards

The 2018 Asia Model Awards were held on May 6 at COEX’s D Hall in Seoul.

The ceremony was hosted by Tony Ahn, announcer Kim Min Ah, and model Choi Yoo Sol. Many models and stars from various countries across Asia, including China, India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the Philippines, attended the event in a celebration of fashion, beauty, and culture.

Han Hye Jin won the Asia Star Award for the model category, while BTOB received the Asia Star Award for the singer category. The boy group remarked, “More than anything, we have simply been walking the path that amazing seniors like Tony Ahn have paved for us. We will also become admirable singers who can serve as examples for our juniors.”

Nana and Park Jung Min received the Popular Star Award for the actor category while GFRIEND and NU’EST W won the Popular Star Award for the singer category, marking the second consecutive year that NU’EST W won the award. The group also took home the Special Asia Award as well.

Rookie groups UNB and fromis_9 won the New Star Award for the singer category, while 2AM’s Jeong Jinwoon and 9MUSES’s Kyungri won the Fashionista Award. Actors Sung Hoon and Lee Yi Kyung also received the Korean Model Star Award and Rising Star Award respectively.
