Infinite Reasons To Miss Sunggyu While He's In The Army
Inspirits were taken aback (to say the least) when the dear leader of INFINITE, Kim Sunggyu, announced during his recent concert that he was going to be enlisting in the army. Us fans knew it was going to be soon, but never did we dream it would be sooo soon.
During his announcement, he mentioned that he initially wasn’t planning to say anything beforehand, but we’re glad he did. It gives us time to get mentally prepared, and shower him with the love he deserves before he leaves.
So here are some of the reasons why we love and will miss this whine-y, hamster-y, talented, Grandpa Gyu:
His confidence level is off the charts….
….but he’s always ready to take a self-deprecating shot at himself
He’s the self-proclaimed smartest member of the bunch, and yet…
Then there’s also this:
But he does have his genius moments too:
He lives up to his nickname of Grandpa Gyu
…so much so that it amazes Lee Kyung Kyu, someone who is practically 30 years older than him.
He can be whine-y as heck
Yes, I’m even going to miss his bouts of whining.
He can be super sassy, and no one is safe from it
Not his friends…
Not other celebrities…
Not his fans…
Not even his own group!
He says he’s has no aegyo, and yet…
Just. So. Darn. Cuuuute!
But don’t let his adorableness fool you, because he can be quite the badass…
…and can be just as brave as anyone else:
And with him in the army, the members have one less target to gang up on
But we all know the love is real
Let’s not forget his amazing voice
His voice isn’t just good. A lot of people have good voices, but great singers are always able to touch something in you. Sunggyu definitely falls in this category, which is why his songs are constantly on my playlist.
Oh c’mon, do we really even need reasons to miss this guy?
Really, we could go on and on: about his talents, his dedication, his leadership, how he’s a variety show darling, how he always impresses the seniors he works with, and so forth. But for those of us who love him, no reasons are needed, because to us, he’s our favorite Sunggyu.
All the love to our dearest Sunggyu, and we wish him the best while he’s in the army. And hopefully, he’ll come out stronger than he is now, both mentally and physically. See you in 2020!
On a scale of 1 to INFINITE, how much will you miss Sunggyu? And share your coping methods with fellow Inspirits below!
Belinda_C genuinely choked up when she watched the clip of him announcing the news. With the huge amount of idols she stans, she can’t believe she has to go through this soooo many times!
Currently watching: “2 Days & 1 Night” and “Will This Do Well Locally”
All-time favorite: “Running Man”
Looking forward to: Sunggyu and the rest of INFINITE going on Doni and Coni’s “Idol Room” (This not happening pre-enlistment bums me out the most)
