Shows Canceled This Week Due To North Korea-U.S. Summit, Elections, And World Cup
Various dramas and variety shows will not air this week due to major events.
June 12 marks the North Korea – United States summit, June 13 is the day of local elections in South Korea, and June 14 is the beginning of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
KBS has two channels (KBS1 and KBS2), so most KBS dramas and variety shows will not be affected. However, several shows on other networks will not be airing this week.
Here are the changes to expect this week:
Tuesday, June 12
SBS will not air drama “Wok of Love” and variety show “Burning Youth” to focus on covering the North Korea – United States summit.
MBC’s “Partners for Justice” will also not broadcast on June 12.
Wednesday, June 13
Due to coverage of the local elections, SBS will not air drama “The Undateables” and variety show “Romance Package,” while MBC will not air “Come and Hug Me” and “Radio Star.”
Thursday, June 14
“Happy Together” will be the only KBS variety show to be canceled this week. KBS2 will broadcast the Russia vs. Saudi Arabia game, the first match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. MBC will also air the match in place of “It’s Dangerous Beyond the Blankets.”
Friday, June 15
“Where on Earth” is canceled due to the 2018 FIFA World Cup and will air on June 22.
Saturday, June 16
“Secret Mother,” “Goodbye to Goodbye,” and “Immortal Songs” are also canceled due to the 2018 FIFA World Cup and will air the following week.
