Songs By BLACKPINK, Cube's Rap Unit, And More Deemed Unfit For Broadcast By KBS

New songs by BLACKPINK and Cube Entertainment’s rap unit have been deemed unfit for broadcast by KBS.

According to the results of KBS’s review on June 20, BLACKPINK’s “See U Later” and “Mermaid” by BTOB’s Minhyuk, Peniel, and Ilhoon, CLC’s Yeeun, PENTAGON’s Wooseok, and (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon were deemed inappropriate for broadcast.

BLACKPINK’s “See U Later,” which is a track from their first mini album “Square Up,” has been deemed unfit due to cursing, slang and vulgar expressions. The review stated that “Mermaid” from Cube Entertainment’s rap unit includes suggestive language that describes or is reminiscent of sexual activity.

Along with these tracks, “Lip Service feat. Dynamic Duo” by ELO, a musician under AOMG, was deemed unfit for the same reasons as “Mermaid.” Deepflow, Nucksal, ODEE, and Wutan’s “TIKITAKA WORLDCUP” was deemed unfit for mentioning specific brands. DoonDoon’s “I want to go see the Cherry Blossoms feat. BrotherFriendBrother” failed to pass the review for lyrics that malign specific individuals, groups, or professions.
