Above And Beyond: 14 K-Pop Idols Who Showed Off Their Remarkable Fanservice Skills

Ah, fanservice: the times when our faves cherish their adoring fans as we all gleefully watch on from our screens. Since fanservice culture has always been prominent within the K-pop world, there are many touching instances of idols giving back to the fans. So as an homage to these sweet moments, I hereby present some of the idols who went above and beyond with their fanservice. If you want to know who was included, read on to find out!

1. INFINITE’s Woohyun

Often regarded as a fanservice king, Woohyun truly knows how to put his admirers first. His actions in the clip below prove as much, since he selflessly gave fans autographs and took selfies with them. And because he did this when nobody asked him to, Woohyun’s initiative certainly guarantees him a spot on this list.

2. Taeyeon

As an idol of over 10 years, Taeyeon certainly knows a thing or two about fanservice. Her reactions to fans’ yelled comments in particular are adorable, since she often engages in a sort of conversation with them. Even during a huge concert, she’ll seem like she’s talking personally to everyone in the room.

3. Apink’s Jung Eun Ji

Considering her kind personality, it’s only natural that Jung Eun Ji would be loving toward her fans, too. In this hilarious video, Eun Ji scolds her high school-age fans for coming to her fansign instead of studying for entrance exams! Her concern is so mom-like, it’s adorable.

4. All of SEVENTEEN

To be honest, this instance of fanservice involving the SEVENTEEN members was too good not to include, so they all deserve to be on this list. When planning their goodbye stage for “Pretty U,” SEVENTEEN decided to feature their fans’ photos on the screen behind them! My poor heart can’t take how pure the whole thing is.

5. TWICE’s Sana

While Sana is known for her heart-stopping aegyo to her fans, she also can be more low key about her fanservice. For example, the clip below captures a moment when one of Sana’s fans appears to have tripped and nearly fallen as Sana rushes over to ensure the fan’s safety. So sweet!

6. Wanna One’s Park Ji Hoon

Ji Hoon is yet another aegyo master to make the list, but I’d like to point out that he has a gentlemanly side to him as well. When presented with a crying fan who couldn’t find it within herself to speak, Ji Hoon delicately comforted her with tissues and a hug.

7. Suzy

As expected, Suzy can handle any fan-related situation with the utmost grace. In a moment which afterward went viral, a fan, wanting to share something that she loves, offered a hijab as a gift for Suzy to wear, and she happily obliged. The fan must have been so happy about this encounter!

8. GOT7’s Jackson

Ever the crowd-pleaser, Jackson is a sweetheart who never lets his fans walk away unhappy. So when he saw he’d thrown a ball at a fan during one particular concert, he didn’t hesitate for a second to make sure she was alright.

9. Girl’s Day’s Minah

Minah’s effortlessly bubbly personality never fails to make everyone around her feel comfortable, especially when it comes to the fans. When one fan kindly approached Minah speaking Japanese, she attempted to respond back in the language before switching back to Korean. The fact that she tried really warms your heart!

10. G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Seungri of BIGBANG

Of course, every member of BIGBANG delivers solid fanservice, but this clip of GD, Taeyang, and Seungri really takes the cake. After inviting several fans onstage, each of the boys gave their full and undivided attention to dressing up their fans to fit a certain theme. These poor girls looked so embarrassed and thrilled at the same time!

11. IU

For this lucky fan, meeting IU was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Not only did the two talk and eat pizza together, but they also sang a duet! To top it all off, IU gifted her fan, who was an aspiring musician, some recording equipment out of her own pocket. Talk about generous!

12. BTS’s V

V has always been one to play around with fans, but his love for them is no joke! In an act of concern for one girl, V personally gave his permission for the fan to say he was her girlfriend if she wanted to ward off any unwanted male attention. Seriously, his concern for fans’ well-being is super genuine.

13. MAMAMOO’s Wheein

In a completely unexpected turn of events, Wheein revealed that she knew basic sign language when faced with a fan of hers who was deaf. Watch below to see Wheein tenderly communicating with the fan, as well as her teaching Solar some sign language after the fact.

14. MONSTA X’s Wonho

Though MONSTA X does well with fanservice overall, this particular instance where Wonho gave advice to fans really got to me. His words were practical yet thoughtful; when a fan asked about trying fashion trends for that season, Wonho said that the fan should dress like herself without following what’s popular, since she’s already beautiful.
