Instagram Decides My Look: Creating A Look Inspired By BLACKPINK's Jennie

What happens when a beauty influencer recreates a K-pop look of your choosing?

Hana (@hanaylee) took on the challenge, hosted on Soompi’s Instagram (@soompi), to recreate a beauty look inspired by BLACKPINK’s Jennie. The specific eyes, lips, blush, and hair were chosen by you!

Follow along to see how Hana went about creating her Jennie-inspired look.

Eyes

The final eye makeup voted on by fans was a dramatic eyeliner look that Jennie turned heads with in their Elle magazine pictorial.

STEP 1.  Create a base for the eyeliner to sit on with eyeshadow makeup like the 3CE Mood Recipe Palette. Use a light beige for the foundation over the eyelids and layer on a darker color around the edge and center to create dimension.

STEP 2. With the Karadium Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in black, begin drawing in the eyeliner toward the center of your eye from the edge. Remember to tightline your eyes.

For those with monolids, avoid blinking and let the eyeliner dry so there is no transference onto the eyelids.

Cheeks

For the cheeks, a soft pink was more popular than a strong bronze.

STEP 1. Use the Glossier “Cloud Paint” in Puff for pink cheeks. The blush comes in liquid form, so just dab a few drops onto your cheeks. Gently blend the blush into your cheeks with your fingers for a soft, natural look.

Lips

Femme fatale red lips will perfectly complement the dramatic eyeliner.

STEP 1. For striking red lips, use the MaCQueen Airfit Cushion Tint. Start slow, dabbing a few drops on your bottom lips and blending the tint in. Layer on as needed to get a darker color.

Hair

To complete the Jennie-inspired look, you can opt for voluminous, wavy hair.

STEP 1. Divide your hair into top and bottom parts for easier access to your hair.

STEP 2. Use a large barrel curling iron for natural looking waves. For the hair framing your face, make sure to curl away from your face.
