BTOB's Eunkwang Enlists In The Military
Eunkwang is the first BTOB member off to the military.
On August 21, he entered the training center of the 27th Infantry Division in Hwacheon County of Gangwon Province. BTOB members Peniel, Hyunsik, Changsub, and Ilhoon were present to send him off.
Through a short interview with news outlets, he spoke, “As I am going to fulfill my military duty, to protect our country, I will work hard through my military service period with that mindset while training. I will do my best.”
He continued regarding BTOB, “I am the first member of our team to go. I am very thankful as the members cheered me on telling me to not get hurt and return healthily. They will work hard on BTOB team activities even when I’m not present. They said they will [work] so our concert can be held in an even larger venue, so I am very thankful. I hope they will also be healthy.”
Eunkwang then said to fans, “Thank you so much for supporting me until the day I leave. I read so many messages of support, and I was really touched,” and concluded, “I will return as a great man who is even more upgraded and can share good music with you. Thank you, and I love you. Always be healthy.
Eunkwang shared more of his thoughts through a letter on Instagram.
Ahead of his enlistment, Apink’s Chorong also posted for her close friend, “Return safely, hwaiting!” The photos show her and Bomi with Eunkwang and Changsub.
After completing five weeks of basic training, he will continue as an active duty soldier with his official assignment. He is scheduled to be discharged on May 20, 2020.
