Yeo Jin Goo And Lee Se Young Confirm Casting In Drama Adaptation Of

tvN’s upcoming drama adaptation of the hit film “Gwanghae” has confirmed its lead actors!

Both actors had previously been in talks for their respective roles. The film “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King” was released in 2012 and surpassed 10 million moviegoers at the box office, starring big names like Lee Byung Hun, Ryu Seung Ryong, and Han Hyo Joo.

Yeo Jin Goo will be taking on the double roles that Lee Byung Hun played in the film, Lee Heon and Ha Seon. Ha Seon is a clown who lost both his parents at a young age and was recruited as an entertainer before he starved to death on the streets with his younger sister. However, his resemblance to the king, Lee Heon, gets him entangled in a plot to impersonate the king.

Meanwhile, Lee Heon is a king who lives every day in fear of assassination or betrayal inside the palace until he meets his doppelgänger and his life turns upside down.

Lee Se Young will be playing Yoo So Yoon, the girl with whom both the clown and the prince are in love and Han Hyo Joo’s character in the film. She enjoyed a peaceful but brief newlywed life with Lee Heon when she entered the palace as a Crown Princess, but as queen, she is disappointed to see her king lose sight of his ideals. Without knowing that Lee Heon and Ha Seon change places, her heart undergoes a change when she sees the changed behavior of the “king.”

“Gwanghae” (tentative title) will be airing sometime early next year.
