Original Cast Of Netflix’s “Busted!” In Talks To Return For Second Season
There may be some changes to the cast of the second season of Netflix’s “Busted!”
On September 6, a source from the entertainment industry stated, “Original members of the first season of ‘Busted!’ Yoo Jae Suk, Park Min Young, Ahn Jae Wook, and [gugudan’s] Kim Sejeong have been confirmed for the second season. Lee Kwang Soo will be leaving the show.”
It was reported that Lee Kwang Soo would be leaving the show due to scheduling conflicts, and that the production staff was currently looking for a new cast member. It was also reported that the other members Kim Jong Min and EXO’s Sehun were still in discussion to join the second season.
In response to the reports, producing-director (PD) Jo Hyo Jin stated, “Currently all the members are in discussion to join the second season. We are working to have all the members from the first season join the second season.”
“Busted!” is a pre-produced investigative variety show where seven clumsy detectives solve a mystery every episode. All ten episodes of the first season aired last June, with a cast consisting of Yoo Jae Suk, Ahn Jae Wook, Kim Jong Min, Lee Kwang Soo, Park Min Young, Sehun, and Kim Sejeong. The show is Netflix’s first Korean original series to be renewed for a second season.
Previously, PD Jo Hyo Jin shared, “As it was a first attempt for a fake-reality to combine with variety shows, there were a lot of awkward and lacking parts. I’m happy that it seems like there will be an opportunity to tell another story. If there is a second season, there’s even more stories I want to tell. We will think about things even harder and prepare to return with an even more fun and original second season.”
The second season of “Busted!” will begin filming next month, and is slated to air in 2019.
