Director And Cast Of "The Player" Pick 3 Things To Watch For Ahead Of Premiere

OCN’s new weekend drama “The Player” is gearing up for its premiere and its director and main cast have chosen three things to watch for the enjoy the drama even more!

OCN’s “The Player” will be a drama with stunning visuals and fast-paced action that tells the story of con artist Kang Ha Ri (Song Seung Heon), the nation’s best driver Cha Ah Ryung (f(x)’s Krystal), master hacker Lim Byung Min (Lee Si Eon), and fist fairy Do Jin Woong (Tae Won Suk). Ahead of the premiere, director Go Jae Hyun, Song Seung Heon, Krystal, Lee Si Seon, and Tae Won Suk were asked to pick what viewers should keep an eye on in the new drama.

Director Go Jae Hyun – “The four actors themselves are the key point to watch”

The director said, “Whenever something big happens in the country, I’ve always been curious and a little angry when I thought about where all the money went. I started planning out ‘The Player’ because I wanted to imagine what it would be like if a team went in to take back the wealth people accumulated through crimes.” He went on choose the four main cast members as something to watch and explained, “I tried to focus on the chemistry and teamwork that comes through when all of them are together. The four actors are all showing a new side of themselves. Viewers will feel like the cast is scratching an itch that previously couldn’t be reached.”

Song Seung Heon and Krystal “A refreshing drama that you can’t stop watching.”

Song Seung Heon and Krystal said, “There is such a great atmosphere on set and we think that will translate through the drama itself,” and confidently added, “Once you start watching, you won’t be able to stop.” Song Seung Heon stated, “It’s a must-see weekend drama. If you miss it, it’ll be difficult to connect with people around you when Monday comes around.”

Lee Si Eon and Tae Won Suk “Great action scenes, fun storyline, and perfect cast”

Lee Si Eon and Tae Won Suk both chose the fast-paced action scenes as something to watch for in the drama. Lee Si Eon said, “Please watch for our action scenes. Rookie actor Tae Won Suk especially shined in those scenes, so please anticipate it.” Tae Won Suk added, “There will be a perfect combination of a fun storyline, characters who are full of personality, and exciting action scenes.”

“The Player” will follow a group of people who are the best in their respective fields as they steal money from those who have amassed wealth through illicit means. The first episode will premiere on September 29 at 10:20 p.m. KST on OCN, and the drama will be available on Viki!
