BTOB's Yook Sungjae Writes Teasing But Heartfelt Letter To Leader Eunkwang In The Army

Yook Sungjae wrote a sweet letter to BTOB’s leader and oldest member Eunkwang, who is currently serving in the military.

The episode of SBS’s “Master in the House” that aired on October 28 followed the cast as they met with singer Lee Moon Sae. The singer had worked as a radio DJ for a long time, and he asked the cast and crew to write postcards with stories that they read aloud and discussed.

When it was Yook Sungjae’s turn, he decided to dedicate his postcard to Eunkwang, who enlisted in August and was the first BTOB member to do so. He said, “I hope he’ll gain strength from this letter while he’s away from us and going through the difficulties of training.”

He wrote, “Hey, Eunkwang. It’s Sungjae, the cutest and youngest member. It’s now been a month since you enlisted. I wonder if you’re eating well and if you’re okay. I still get choked up with tears when I think of our last concert together, where we all laughed together.” Yook Sungjae teasingly added, “I saw a photo of you online a few days ago of you looking so happy with your brigade, and it made me feel good knowing that you’ve adjusted well but on the other hand, I was a little sad that you are able to do so well without me. But no, please keep doing well without me. Thank you for the last 10 years. They’ve been precious memories I will never forget. Please continue to live well and eat well.”

Along with his letter and fitting the theme of sending stories to a radio DJ, Yook Sungjae also requested Lee Moon Sae’s “Old Love” to be played. He explained, “He’s our oldest member and the first to enlist. It’s been over 10 year since I started training and then made my debut, and the only people I’ve spent more than half that time with are my members. So for one of them to enlist, it really felt like I was sending off a family member. I knew in my mind that I’ll see him again soon, but my heart still ached. But he’s with Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon. It felt like he’s very happy right now and surrounded by good people. He seems to be doing well.”

Lastly, Yook Sungjae had everyone laughing as he said, “Now, I have to do my own thing. While he’s gone.”
