Watch: PSY Talks About His Passion For Music In 2018 MAMA's #LikeMAMA Campaign Video

PSY is the next artist to participate in the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards’ #LikeMAMA campaign!

On October 30, the awards show released a clip of PSY talking about “passion.”

In the video, PSY mentioned how unexpected his success overseas was and commented about how it didn’t feel real when he won an award at the MTV EMAs.

Later, he remarked, “Up until I began doing music, I spent my younger days unable to focus on just one thing. After getting into music, however, I would spend several nights just working on music, and even 20 years later, I think I just purely and passionately worked on music.”

He also discussed the greatest moments of passion in his life, saying, “It’s the encores.” The artist is known for his encores that reach the hour mark at concerts.

MAMA has been releasing videos of artists who have shared special moments in the K-pop world with the awards show. Previously, BTS talked about the keyword “challenge.” With PSY’s discussion about “passion,” “dream” will be used as the theme for the next artists’ interviews.

The awards ceremony is currently holding the campaign event for global fans who have supported MAMA during its 10-year run, where they will be able to attend the 2018 MAMA as one of the audience members.

The 2018 MAMA will kick off in Korea on December 10 and then continue to Japan at Saitama Super Arena on December 12. The finale on December 14 will once again be held in Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Expo Arena. The awards show previously shared more details about the concept for this year’s ceremonies.

Voting for 2018 MAMA will begin on November 1 at 6 p.m. KST and close on December 9 at midnight.
