Choi Woo Shik Parts Ways With JYP Entertainment + In Talks To Join Management SOOP

Choi Woo Shik will be leaving JYP Entertainment after six years.

On November 7, JYP Entertainment confirmed, “Our exclusive contract with Choi Woo Shik has expired,” and added, “The decision was made to not renew.”

Industry representatives reported that he is joining Management SOOP, which houses actors including Gong Yoo, Gong Hyo Jin, Ahn Jae Wook, Seo Hyun Jin, Jeon Do Yeon, Jung Yu Mi, and Nam Ji Hyun. In response, Management SOOP commented, “An exclusive contract with Choi Woo Shik has not been confirmed,” and explained, “It is true that we recently met, and we are discussing details regarding a contract.”

Choi Woo Shik signed with JYP Entertainment in October 2012. He has since built up a successful career with hit projects including “Train to Busan,” “Okja,” “The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion,” “Fool’s Love,” and “Fight My Way.” He has completed shooting for upcoming films “Parasite” and “Hunting Time” (literal title) and is currently filming “The Divine Fury.”
