Park Hye Soo Shares What She'd Most Like To Learn From "Swing Kids" Co-Star EXO's D.O.
Actress Park Hye Soo recently sat down for an interview to talk about her first lead role in a film.
Park Hye Soo stars in “Swing Kids,” directed by Kang Hyung Chul and co-starring EXO’s D.O. It tells the story of a dance troop in a Geoje prison camp in 1951.
In the interview with Sports Kyunghyang, Park Hye Soo said that she learned a lot from being on set with Kang Hyung Chul and D.O. In particular, she wanted to have the kind of gaze that D.O. brings to his roles.
“Even when he’s just sitting still, his eyes are saying something,” she said. “I got goosebumps from our very first screen test. The director asked him, ‘What are you thinking about?’ and he said that he wasn’t thinking about anything. I was fascinated that he could pull off a mysterious atmosphere even by sitting there and doing nothing.”
The actress also briefly mentioned her singing career, having previously auditioned on SBS’s “K-Pop Star 4.” She said, “Fans will sometimes ask me when I’m going to sing. I am always writing songs by myself. I haven’t shown them to the world yet, but I am preparing for the day. I don’t know the exact timing myself.”
“Swing Kids” will premiere on December 19. Check out the teaser here!
