Kang Daniel And Yoon Ji Sung's Agency Provides Update On Taking Legal Action Against Malicious Comments

MMO Entertainment gave an update to their previous announcement to take legal action against malicious comments made towards Wanna One’s Kang Daniel and Yoon Ji Sung.

In June, 2018, MMO Entertainment announced their plans to take further legal action against malicious comments made towards Wanna One members Kang Daniel and Yoon Ji Sung. In the statement, the agency confirmed that they filed their first round of lawsuit in early 2017, but they will continue to monitor to increase protection for their artists.

Six months later, MMO Entertainment took to their social media account once again to announce that they filed the second round of lawsuits against the malicious commenters.

The following is the official statement:

Hello, this is MMO Entertainment. In June, our agency warned against the malicious comments made towards our artists (Kang Daniel and Yoon Ji Sung) that posed threats not only to the artists, but also to fans, and announced that we will take further legal action.

As our resolution to the problem, we filed a lawsuit against the internet users who composed malicious comments that targeted our artists for violating the Libel Offense under Article 70 and Offense of Insults under Article 311 of the Criminal Code. We are also currently reviewing additional ways to file lawsuits against those who uploaded sexually offensive posts of the artists online.

We have decided to utilize every possible legal method that is available to us to take strong legal action against malicious commenters. This will not be a simple warning. We also promise our full participation to the ongoing investigation about the case to ensure the most accurate and fair results.

As the artists and their family members have suffered a tremendous amount of psychological pain, we will not stop at a criminal offense, but we will continue onto the civil offense and ask that you take responsibility for the damage.

The only way to prevent further malicious comments it to take strong legal action against them. Above all, we saw that it is our job to live up to the expectation of the fans who love and support our artists by taking strict measures into protecting the artists.
