Highlight's Lee Gikwang Announces Plans For Military Enlistment

Lee Gikwang is the next member of Highlight to enlist in the military.

On December 21, the Gyeonggi Southern District Police Agency released the list of successful candidates for their 363rd recruitment of conscripted policemen, and Lee Gikwang’s name was included on the list. His agency Around Us Entertainment stated, “Lee Gikwang took the exam to be a conscripted policeman and he has successfully passed.”

Lee Gikwang is the second Highlight member to be accepted as a conscripted policeman following Yang Yoseob, who will be enlisting on January 24. The specific dates for Lee Gikwang’s enlistment are set to be confirmed around mid-January. He had previously participated in the 362nd recruitment with Son Dongwoon but were both rejected.

Yoon Doojoon enlisted in August this year, and both Yang Yoseob and Lee Gikwang will enlist in the first half of 2019. Remaining Highlight members Yong Junhyung and Son Dongwoon are set to follow suit, though no official statements have been made yet about their plans.
