Main Vocalist Of Rookie Boy Group Amazes With Sweet Vocals On "The King Of Mask Singer"
Another idol has wowed audiences with his performance on MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer.”
On the December 23 episode of the show, new contestants “Fireplace” and “Chimney” faced off in the first round, singing “Because It’s Christmas,” originally by Sung Si Kyung, Park Hyo Shin, Lee Seok Hoon, Seo In Guk, and VIXX. The panelists, which included VIXX’s Ravi and Ken, became excited when they heard the song. The duo impressed the audience with their sweet voices and mellow harmonies.
Before the first elimination, the two contestants gave hints about their identities by showing off their personal skills. “Fireplace” continued to show VIXX his love by covering the group’s “Shangri-La” fan dance. In response, Ravi and Ken joined him on stage and performed the fan dance as a trio, wowing the audience with their powerful, sexy moves.

The audience and panelists then voted between the two, with “Chimney” winning 57 to 42 votes. “Fireplace” sang his second round song, Brown Eyes’s “Bit by Bit.” While singing the song, he unmasked himself and was revealed to be The Boyz’s main vocalist, Sangyeon.
Sangyeon shared his thoughts on his performance on the show, saying, “It was my first performance alone, so I was really nervous. I even ate a cheongsimhwan [a pill that helps with relaxing]. Because it was my first solo performance, I couldn’t do as well as I’d practiced so it’s a bit regretful.”
