Jimmy Fallon and Jimin met in September when BTS guested on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” During the night’s opening, Jimin introduced himself by saying, “Hey Jimmy, I’m Jimin,” and the two hugged while Jimmy Fallon wore Jimin’s BT21 character headband.
After the release of “Promise,” “JIMIN” started trending No. 1 worldwide on Twitter, and the song achieved 1 million streams about 35 minutes after its release on SoundCloud. In addition to Jimmy Fallon, U.S. Billboard, US Weekly, and other media have taken note and reported of Jimin’s self-composed track.
The song was composed by Jimin and Slow Rabbit, while the lyrics were written by Jimin and fellow BTS member RM. “Promise” has received positive reviews for harmoniously combining the acoustic guitar with Jimin’s trademark delicate and emotional voice.
