"My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2" Director Comments On Working With Go Hyun Jung And Park Shin Yang

On the afternoon of January 7, KBS2’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2” held a press conference in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Han Sang Woo, the director of the drama, was in attendance.

During the event, Han Sang Woo discussed Go Hyun Jung’s character in the drama and stated, “Her character is different from any other villains that you see in dramas. This character is both a victim and a perpetrator. Even though Go Hyun Jung had controversy when she was working on the drama ‘Return,’ she was still the best actress for this role. After filming with her, I was sure that I made the right decision about picking her for the role. Working with her, I also realized why Go Hyun Jung is called the best actress.”

He also commented, “Maybe it’s because I have an easy-going personality, but the best actor to a director is one who does not misunderstand the director’s intentions and accepts them as they are. [Go Hyun Jung and Park Shin Yang] don’t do anything that could lead to a misunderstanding.”

Han Sang Woo continued, “Lately, I have been thinking that I have been blessed this year. They have been in this industry longer than I have, but they do not strictly expect fixed standards of politeness. We treat each other casually. I don’t feel uncomfortable around them. Don’t you have to get to know people first to know how they really are? From my experience with them, they give me strength, have taught me many things, and are of great help to me.”

“My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2” revolves around the ‘second act’ of the formerly successful prosecutor Jo Deul Ho’s life since falling to ruins after reporting corruption taking place in the prosecution. It airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. KST.
