WJSN's Dayoung Reveals What She Was Told To Do To Avoid Comparison With Shin Dong Yup

WJSN’s Dayoung has shared a story about her resemblance to Shin Dong Yup.

On January 12, WJSN members Dayoung and Luda were guests on “Amazing Saturday.” Dayoung talked about how her company restricted her from wearing her in pigtails in order to lessen her resemblance to Shin Dong Yup.

She shared her thoughts on the resemblance and brought laughter, saying, “When we first debuted, a lot of attention was garnered due to my resemblance [to him]. At the time when no one even glanced at WJSN, our company appreciated the attention and press I was getting, but they stressed that I am still part of a girl group and have to look pretty, therefore, no pigtails.”

Shin Dong Yup added that he also thought they looked similar when Dayoung first debuted, but now he doesn’t see it.

“Amazing Saturday” airs on Saturdays at 7:40 p.m. KST.
