MOMOLAND Shares Thoughts On Unexpected Success Of

MOMOLAND discussed their hit “BBoom BBoom” and hopes for 2019!

In 2018, the girl group received a lot of love from fans and the public for their catchy tune. “BBoom BBoom” was released on January 3, 2018 as the title track of their third mini album “Great,” and has since become their first MV to reach 300 million views on YouTube.

After receiving a Bonsang (main award) at the 28th Seoul Music Awards, MOMOLAND participated in an interview with media outlet Sports Seoul.

“We began promotions for ‘BBoom BBoom’ on January 3 of last year,” began JooE. “Making a rough estimate including practices, TV appearances, rehearsals, and outside events, I think I sang it over 2,000 times.”

Ahin added, “I never got sick of it. It’s always fun because many people cheer and sing along when we perform. It’s definitely a hype song and we have fun while performing.”

“This song is a ball of luck that fell into our laps,” said Nayun. “To be honest, I didn’t know it would be this successful. When we first received the song, there were members who cried because they didn’t want to sing it. But we unexpectedly received a lot of love and I feel grateful.”

Sharing the group’s goals for 2019, JooE stated, “If last year was a rising year, I want us to make a place for ourselves this year. The public only knows our song ‘BBoom BBoom,’ and I want to promote two more songs this year. This is obviously baseless confidence, but I think we’ll be able to release a good song this year. We didn’t know we’d be this successful during ‘BBoom BBoom.'”
