Zico, iKON's B.I, SEVENTEEN's Woozi, B1A4's Jinyoung, And More Chosen As Full Members Of Korea Music Copyright Association

The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) has announced the songwriters that have been chosen to become full members this year!

KOMCA is a non-profit copyright collective with the aim of improving music culture in Korea through protecting the rights of copyright holders and ensuring ease of use for listeners. The organization was founded in 1964, and it maintains a database of copyrighted works and their producers.

Any copyright holder is able to join KOMCA as a “junior member,” but the board of directors chooses a list of 25 junior members each year to promote to the status of “full members.”

The requirements for the promotion to full member status include being a junior member of KOMCA for three years or more, receiving a certain amount in royalties each year, and also being selected by the board of directors. Becoming a full member of KOMCA gives an artist the right to vote at the organization’s general meetings.

2019’s list of new full members includes Chancellor, Bumzu, Slow Rabbit, 10cm’s Kwon Jung Yeol, former 10cm member Yoon Cheol Jong, Kim Tae Joo, iKON’s B.I, Zion.T, Samuel Seo, Seo Yong Bae, Iggy, Highlight’s Yong Junhyung, Zico, pianist and composer Yiruma, Gray, SEVENTEEN’s Woozi, Akdong Musician’s Lee Chan Hyuk, Busker Busker frontman Jang Beom Jun, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa, B1A4’s Jinyoung, and more.

Last year, artists who became full members of KOMCA included BTS’ Suga, Oh Hyuk, Simon Dominic, and more.
