Shin Se Kyung Confirmed For New MBC Drama That Cha Eun Woo Is In Talks For
Shin Se Kyung has confirmed her next big project!
On February 18, MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” (literal title) announced that Shin Se Kyung is confirmed for the lead female role.
The drama will tell the story of women in the 19th century who were frowned upon for writing historical records. In the drama, Shin Se Kyung will play Goo Hae Ryung, an intern to become a palace historian. She takes one step at a time to create her own destiny in Joseon, where the Confusion ideas are deeply rooted. She wants to fulfill her duties as a historian and prove to the world that everyone is equal.
In midst of everything, Goo Hae Ryung meets Prince Yi Rim, who lives a double life as a lonely prince and a popular romance novelist, and begins to develop a rather uncanny relationship with him. It was previously reported that ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo is in talks to take on the role of Prince Yi Rim.
Shin Se Kyung commented, “The script was really compelling, so I had a lot of fun while reading it. The fact that the drama addresses female historians was especially interesting to me.” The actress continued, “I’m putting my best effort to impress you, so please look forward to it.”
“Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung” is set to premiere sometime in July 2019.
