(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon Talks About Alarming Incident During “Senorita” MV Filming

On the February 28 broadcast of MBC FM4U’s “Ji Suk Jin’s 2 O’Clock Date,” (G)I-DLE appeared as guests to promote their latest title track “Senorita.”

Ji Suk Jin greeted the girl group by mentioning the group’s various achievements. The host said, “The music video for ‘Senorita’ surpassed 5 million views within 21 hours of its release. You also won six Best Female Rookie awards last year. That’s very impressive.”

In response, Minnie said, “When we received our first Best Female Rookie award, we cried a lot. It was our dream to receive a rookie award.” Shuhua added, “I let my parents know as soon as we received the award. They were very happy.”

When Ji Suk Jin asked about the “Senorita” music video, Soojin revealed that Soyeon’s hair caught on fire while filming. Soyeon explained, “We had to use real fire for one of the scenes, and my hair caught on fire while filming that scene. I thought it was going to be okay, but I was surprised to see that it burned a lot more hair than I expected.”

Ji Suk Jin responded, “It doesn’t look very burnt right now,” but Soyeon said, “You can’t tell because I already trimmed out [the burnt hair].”

Afterwards, (G)I-DLE performed their latest title track “Senorita.” Soyeon concluded the broadcast by saying, “It was fun [coming on the show] for the second time. I hope you invite us again in the future.”

(G)I-DLE made a comeback on February 26 with their second mini album “I Made.” Shortly afterwards, their new title track “Senorita” took No. 1 and No. 2 on various domestic charts, as well as topping iTunes K-pop charts in several countries around the world.
