Na Young Suk Opens Up About Experience With Rumors Of Adultery

On March 12, the production presentation occurred for tvN’s new variety program “Korean Hostel in Spain.” On this day, Producing director (PD) Na Young Suk talked about the rumors that he and actress Jung Yu Mi were swept up in for the first time in a public setting.

Previously, on October 17, rumors of adultery between an actress and a star PD spread on online communities. As the rumors spread, Jung Yu Mi’s and Na Young Suk’s names shot up on the realtime search rankings on various search engines.

PD Na Young Suk said, “Since this is a personal question, I’ll talk about it briefly. I didn’t not suffer. I felt wronged. Since it was a personal issue, it was difficult for me to think of it objectively.” He continued, “I felt sorry that I made my family concerned. The fact that I had to sue people to prove that nothing of the sort happened was not a happy situation for me.”

He also added, “Through press reports with the lawyer I learned that a few individuals were forwarded to prosecution, but I didn’t get the feeling of, ‘I caught them all.’ I don’t think they committed the biggest sin by uploading [the rumors.]”

Na Young Suk also talked about how fast rumors spread in society, saying, “Currently, our society has so many issues like this. I think that the fact that the rumor spread and spread makes everyone an accomplice. However, it’s not that I’m attacking non-celebrities.”

As of February, around 10 individuals, including the freelance writer, a company employee, and a screenwriter have been forwarded to the prosecution on the suspicion of defamation according to the Information and Communications Network Act.
