MAMAMOO's Hwasa Tells Story Behind Stage Outfit That Divided Opinions

On the March 14 episode of “Life Bar,” MAMAMOO’s Hwasa talked about an outfit that caused a stir!

When Hwasa recently made a solo debut with her hit track “Twit,” one of the outfits she wore for a performance included her wearing a plastic suit. She also wore the outfit as part of her music video.

On “Life Bar,” host Kim Heechul of Super Junior asked Hwasa whose idea that was.

“It was my idea,” she clarified. “Even before I did that song, I’d had the thought that it would look cool if I wore a swimsuit with a plastic suit. So I’d kept it in mind, thinking I should wear that at some point.”

She had then realized that she’d be able to wear it when she was promoting as a solo artist. She said, “People’s opinions were much more divided than I’d expected. I’d just thought that it looked really cool.”

Hwasa laughed as she added that a lot of people compared it to Park Jin Young‘s famous plastic pants. “I really wasn’t imitating that,” she clarified. “I just wore it because I wanted to.”

MAMAMOO made a comeback on March 14 with “gogobebe,” which has already risen to the top of many realtime charts.
