Lee Mi Sook Confirmed To Decline Offer For Upcoming Drama
Actress Lee Mi Sook will not be starring in SBS’s “Secret Boutique.”
On April 3, Lee Mi Sook’s agency explained, “It has been decided that she will not be starring in ‘Secret Boutique.'” They clarified, “She is not stepping down; she is declining [the offer,]” to address reports that Lee Mi Sook was stepping down from the drama due to the mental burden from her involvement with Jang Ja Yeon’s case.
Earlier, it was reported that Lee Mi Sook was in talks to star in the drama “Secret Boutique,” which will tell the story of Jenny Jang, a self-made woman who becomes the successful owner of a boutique, which is actually a small law firm that helps settle the matters of the upper class privately. However, Jenny Jang aspires to become the owner of Deo Company someday. If Lee Mi Sook had accepted the role, she would have played the role of Kim Yeo Ok, the CEO of Deo Company. Meanwhile, Kim Sun Ah and Kim Jae Young have been confirmed to star in the drama which is expected to broadcast in July with Kim Sun Ah as the role of Jenny Jang.
Reports also added that since the drama will being filming in April, the production staff will be looking to find a different actress for the important role soon.
Recently, the public also expressed their curiosity as to whether Lee Mi Sook would also be stepping down from MBN’s “Learn Today,” especially as she recently did not attend a pre-recording for the program due to personal reasons. However, MBN quickly addressed the rumors that she would be leaving the show by stating that she was not being replaced.
Lee Mi Sook recently gained the public’s attention due to reports that suspected her of being involved in the death of the late actress Jang Ja Yeon. Following the reports, Yoon Ji Oh, who claims that she witnessed Jang Ja Yeon preparing documents before her death, called out Lee Mi Sook and Song Sun Mi for stating that they have no knowledge regarding Jang Ja Yeon’s case. Near the end of March, Lee Mi Sook revealed through her agency, “I plan to receive [investigation] if further investigation is necessary regarding the late Jang Ja Yeon’s case.”
