NCT 127 Signs Distribution Deal With U.S. Label Capitol Music Group
NCT 127 is joining forces with U.S. umbrella label Capitol Music Group!
On April 4 local time, Capitol Music Group and SM Entertainment announced that they would be forming a new partnership just in time for NCT 127’s upcoming North American tour.
According to the new deal, Capitol Music Group and its subsidiary Caroline—an independent distribution and label services company—will be handling distribution and marketing for NCT 127 in “most global territories.”
Capitol Music Group chairman and CEO Steve Barnett remarked, “We are thrilled to be partnering with [SM Entertainment] to further the phenomenon of NCT 127 around the world. The band’s potential for global success is virtually unlimited, and SM Entertainment is a powerhouse that we hope to be in business with for many years to come.”
Caroline president Jacqueline Saturn and executive vice president Matt Sawin commented, “While the K-pop explosion is one of the most exciting developments in pop music, we have long set our sights on NCT 127 in particular. The members are extremely talented and incredibly hard-working, and SM Entertainment is a powerhouse that brings incredible resources, experience, and know-how to the table. Everyone at Caroline is beyond excited about this partnership.”
SM Group CEO Kim Young Min also expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership, remarking, “Capitol Music Group and Caroline have been early believers in the global potential and influence of [NCT 127]. We are very excited about the new partnership between SM and Capitol Music Group/Caroline that is sure to generate more diverse and intensive marketing, and [we] look forward to the journey ahead to bring NCT 127 to the world starting from the U.S., with their support.”
NCT 127 is currently preparing to embark on their very first tour of North America. The group will be heading to a total of 11 cities in the United States and Canada over the course of April and May, with their first concert scheduled to take place in Newark, New Jersey on April 24.
