Police Announce Hwang Ha Na's Case Will Be Forwarded To Prosecutors + Investigating Park Yoochun At His Own Request

On April 11, the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency’s Drug Investigation Unit released a statement about investigations into Hwang Ha Na and Park Yoochun.

The police stated, “Hwang Ha Na’s case will be forwarded to prosecutors on April 12 on charges of violating the laws on drug control.”

According to the police, Hwang Ha Na is being charged with injecting Philopon (a form of methamphetamine) numerous times at her home in Seoul, including between May and June 2015, in September 2015, and between February and March 2019. She is also being charged with using a psychotropic drug with elements of clonazepam in April 2018. It was for this last charge that she was arrested on April 6, 2019.

Hwang Ha Na was previously charged for her 2015 drug usage but her case was recommended for non-indictment because of a lack of evidence. It has recently been reported that Hwang Ha Na may have bribed a friend to take the blame in that case.

The police are also investigating Park Yoochun after Hwang Ha Na alleged that she had been coerced into taking drugs again by a celebrity friend. It was rumored that the friend was Park Yoochun because he and Hwang Ha Na had formerly been in a romantic relationship, but Park Yoochun denied the allegations in a press conference.

In addition to revealing the status of Hwang Ha Na’s case, a source from the police told Star News, “Park Yoochun requested that we investigate him, so we are currently making scheduling arrangements for that investigation.” When asked if Park Yoochun was being investigated as a suspect, the police source refused to answer.
