Police Ask For MBC’s Cooperation Regarding Allegations Of Yang Hyun Suk Mediating Prostitution
The police plan to find out the facts about Yang Hyun Suk’s alleged prostitution mediation.
On May 28, a source from Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Metropolitan/Provincial Special Detective Division mentioned the report by MBC’s investigative journalism show “Straight,” saying, “We are trying to contact MBC. We are checking the facts, and the issue is how [MBC] will cooperate with us.”
The source continued, “To identify and investigate witnesses, we need cooperation from the broadcasting company. After checking the facts, we will do an investigation or internal investigation [if needed].”
Since January, the Metropolitan/Provincial Special Detective Division has been investigating all related cases related to Burning Sun. Before “Straight” was aired but after the preview was released, the police stated, “It is not a case that came out of the Burning Sun investigation,” and added, “We will check the report, review it, and investigate any issues that need to be investigated.”
On May 27, “Straight” reported on Yang Hyun Suk allegedly soliciting prostitution for two wealthy South Asian investors. YG Entertainment denied the claims, and their stock prices have dropped significantly.
