Cute Guy-Girl Friendships In The Korean Entertainment Industry

One of the world’s highly debated questions is whether men and women can just be friends, but as long as you get along, who’s to say that it really matters? Although they are in an industry where dating rumors circulate constantly, here are a couple of guy-girl duos in the Korean entertainment industry who are known to simply be good friends.

TVXQ’s Yunho and BoA

These SM Entertainment labelmates are said to have become friends after going through the same hardships from overseas promotions after debuting. BoA visited Yunho while he was in the military, and appeared with him on the June 7 episode of MBC’s “I Live Alone.” Yunho also shared, “Even if we hold hands and hug, BoA and I do not get caught up in scandals. That’s because we know everything about each other.”

IU and Park Ji Bin

IU became friends with actor Park Ji Bin nine years ago after doing a photoshoot together. The two were only teenagers then, and became friends immediately. They have a long-standing friendship and IU often invites Park Ji Bin to her concerts.

Ha Ji Won and BTS’s V

V is known to be a social butterfly and has many well-known friends in the industry, but he is especially close to actress Ha Ji Won, who is 17 years older than him. Despite their busy schedules, the pair make time to hang out as they have similar hobbies. Ha Ji Won once shared that they both enjoy art and photography, often sharing pretty photos they take with one another and talking about paintings.

Jeon Somi and AB6IX’s Lee Dae Hwi

These two “Produce 101” stars attended Chungdam middle school together and also trained at JYP Entertainment together. Jeon Somi attended the finale of “Produce 101 Season 2” and was even seen shedding tears when Lee Dae Hwi’s name was called as a member of Wanna One.

Soyou and SHINee’s Key

These ’91 liners became close as drinking buddies, and Key got Soyou to feature on his debut solo single “Forever Yours” by buying her drinks and making her listen to the song. Soyou once picked Key as her closest male friend, to which he said was the same for him.

Kim Go Eun and Park Bo Gum

The actors became friends after appearing in the film “Chinatown” together. They have since done various photo shoots and commercials together as well. Park Bo Gum even made an appearance at Kim Go Eun’s first fan meeting, surprising not only her fans but the actress too!

f(x)’s Amber and Henry

Amber and Henry are so close that people consider them not to be just best friends but like brother and sister. The two are originally both from SM Entertainment and collaborated on songs such as “Happy Holidays” and “1-4-3.” During Henry’s appearance on “I Live Alone,” Amber emerged several times because he kept facetiming her. She eventually showed up in person, and their casual interactions were shown through the show.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu and Bora

SISTAR and INFINITE both made their debut in 2010 and the groups have always been friends. When Sunggyu enlisted, Bora promised to visit him and was seen cheering him on during his military musical. Bora is also good friends with INFINITE’s Sungyeol, whom she appeared on “Law of the Jungle” with.

BTOB and Apink

BTOB and Apink members spent their trainee days together at Cube Entertainment, before Apink’s management was moved to a different company. All the members go way back, with certain pairs being especially close. Chorong has often shared that Changsub is one of her very few celebrity friends, and even appeared in the MV for his solo debut “Gone.” Ilhoon and Son Naeun grew up in the same neighborhood and have been friends since they were in middle school. Even their moms are friends! Bomi and Ilhoon co-hosted “Weekly Idol” for four years together, and he recently appeared on Apink’s episode of “TMI News” as a special guest who knows a lot about the members. Before Eunkwang‘s enlistment, he also met up with Changsub, Bomi, and Chorong for a final meal. These four also have matching shoes!

EXID’s Hani and Super Junior’s Kim Heechul

The “Hee siblings” first met when they hosted “A Style For You” together, where they were initially extremely awkward. However, the two eventually got close and also co-hosted “Weekly Idol” for awhile. The two are known to resemble one another, with Hani’s nickname during school even being “Ahn Heechul.”

Heechul and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon

Taeyeon and Heechul are labelmates and have been friends throughout their entire careers. He appeared on her reality show, “The TaeTiSeo” where he gave his good friend heartfelt advice, and even revealed that he knew about her previous relationship before it was publicly announced.
