SBS And KBS Answer Questions About Potential Appearance Bans On Park Yoochun Following MBC's Decision

After MBC stated that it has placed Park Yoochun on a list of people who are suspended from appearing on the network, two other major networks KBS and SBS were asked by the media about their policies.

A source from SBS stated on July 11, “Contrary to MBC, SBS does not have a list of people who are suspended from appearing.” They added, “We do not immediately suspend the appearances of celebrities who evoke criticism from society. In the case that they are to make an appearance in the future, during the casting process we examine factors such as whether they have had sufficient time to self-reflect.”

“In regards to a suspension on Park Yoochun’s appearances, his name hasn’t yet been mentioned at SBS,” they added.

Meanwhile, when asked about Park Yoochun’s potential suspension, a source from KBS stated, “We cannot verify this.”

Park Yoochun recently was charged with purchasing and using Philopon on several occasions, which is a violation of the Narcotics Control Act. He received a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years of probation and treatment, and he was fined 1.4 million won (approximately $1,189). The probation means that if he commits an offense during the two-year period, he will receive a 10-month prison sentence.
