Rapper B-Free Apologizes To BTS And ARMY For Past Comments

Rapper B-Free has belatedly apologized to BTS and BTS’s fans.

On July 14, the rapper took to his Twitter to write, “To BTS and their fans I am so sorry for all the emotional pain I’ve caused. Please forgive me. Wish the best.” He then mentioned BTS in a separate Tweet and wrote in Korean, “I’m incredibly sorry to BTS and BTS’s fans for my past actions. I thought that I’d be able to say this face-to-face one day but…for now, I’ll express [my thoughts] like this.”

Previously in 2013, BTS’s Suga and RM, B-Free, and other hip-hop artists participated in a broadcast titled “Kim Bong Hyun’s Hip-Hop Invitational 1st Anniversary Broadcast.” During the broadcast, B-Free referred to Suga as seoltang (the Korean word for sugar) and commented, “I’m sure BTS hasn’t listened to our albums. We haven’t listened to BTS’s music either.”

The rapper later asked the BTS members about how they met and commented, “[You guys] could have also taken the road towards being rappers, but you couldn’t beat that temptation,” referring to Suga and RM’s choices of debuting as idols. He then also asked questions such as, “Is BTS’s music hip hop?” and “Is wearing makeup like a girl on stage hip hop?”

When fans asked B-Free to apologize, he replied, “I didn’t realize I’d have such an impact on so many people. But anyways, if you’re thinking about what I said today for over 20 minutes, I sincerely recommend finding a boyfriend.”

In 2016, B-Free apologized to BTS for his comments through a series of Tweets, saying, “I apologize for my mean comments. I didn’t have to do that. I’ve grown, and living life, I realize it’s not right to hate others for whatever they do.”
