Watch: Lee Seung Gi Shows Determination To Improve Soccer Skills On "Master In The House"
Lee Seung Gi transformed into a soccer player on SBS’s “Master in the House.”
On the July 28 episode of SBS’s “Master in the House,” the cast learned valuable soccer skills from the South Korean national U-20 soccer team coach Chung Jung Yong.
His team competed in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup and made history as South Korea’s first time qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup semifinals in 36 years since the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship in Mexico. The team ultimately took second place after losing the final match against Ukraine with a final score of 3 to 1.
Coach Chung Jung Yong announced, “After the penalty kick lesson, I’ll give today’s MVP a signed U-20 uniform.” Hearing this, the cast members began to get really competitive and focused on the lesson.
Lee Seung Gi was the first person to practice his penalty kick using the tips he learned from Chung Jung Yong including mentally battling with the goalie. He kicked the ball to the right while looking at the left. Lee Seung Gi successfully tricked the goalie but did not get the ball into the net.
Chung Jung Yong commented, “I’m surprised by the improvements. After running for 120 minutes, the players’ feet don’t come off the ground. People say, ‘Why can’t you kick that?’ but there is an enormous amount of pressure, so following the formula lessens the risk.”
