Lee Dong Wook Explains Why He Took On His New Character In OCN's "Strangers From Hell"
Lee Dong Wook has talked about his upcoming drama OCN’s “Strangers From Hell”!
“Strangers From Hell” is a mystery thriller about an aspiring novelist named Yoon Jong Woo (played by Im Siwan) who moves to Seoul to pursue his dreams but is thrust into an unexpected hell due to the strange residents of his dorm. Lee Dong Wook will be playing Seo Moon Jo, a dentist who runs a clinic near Eden Dormitory. Not only is Seo Moon Jo exceedingly handsome, but he is also a charmingly eloquent man with an artistic soul.
This project will be Lee Dong Wook’s first experience with the mystery thriller genre. He shared, “This is my first time acting in a mystery thriller, so my transformation into Seo Moon Jo is also a new venture for me,” expressing that he wanted to showcase a new side of himself through this drama.
Lee Dong Wook continued to explain, “Seo Moon Jo is the character who is the most intertwined with the other characters in the story. He’ll help out and receive help from the people living in Eden Dormitory, but he’ll also create tension by opposing the other characters. He seems ordinary, but he isn’t. He’s a charismatic character with a mysterious aura.” As a character that was invented for the drama and not featured in the original webtoon, Seo Moon Jo has been raising the viewers’ interests with every additional teaser.
Finally, Lee Dong Wook concluded, “Characters with strong unique individuality, the dormitory setting that creates a strange tension, and the intense story you can’t look away from are all points to look out for.” He added, “I think if you watch ‘Strangers From Hell,’ you’ll blow away the last bit of the summer heat. Please show lots of interest and love until the first episode.”
“Strangers From Hell” premieres on August 31 at 10:30 p.m. KST. Watch a highlight reel of the upcoming drama here!
