Pledis Entertainment Shares Another Update On Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters

Pledis Entertainment is continuing to take legal action against malicious comments made about their artists.

On August 16, Pledis posted the following statement on their official website.

Hello, this is Pledis Entertainment. First, we would like to thank all the fans who support and love the artists at our agency.

We previously announced on our official website that we will issue a strong legal response to netizens (both those who make posts and share posts) who spread malicious slander, indiscriminately disseminate false information, and otherwise defame our artists. The current status of that legal action is as follows.

Pledis’ legal representatives have completed their thorough legal review of the PDF files and other evidence that Pledis has collected, as well as the information that fans have sent to us. We have finished filing a total of three rounds of formal complaints on the charges of defamation and violating the law regarding the promotion of information and communication network use and protection of information.

The police have summoned netizens who have defamed our artists for questioning and plan to hold another questioning session in the future. Pledis and our artists will cooperate 100 percent with the investigation.

As we previously announced, we will continue to monitor the situation online and if a serious legal violation occurs, we will use every means within the law to respond.

Thank you again to everyone who loves and supports our artists and we ask for your continued support in future. Thank you.

Pledis previously announced that they had filed a criminal complaint against malicious commenters on April 11, followed by additional complaints in May.

Artists at Pledis Entertainment include SEVENTEEN, NU’EST, various members of After School, and some former members of PRISTIN.
