Park Bom, AOA, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, And More Share Thoughts On “Queendom” Competition
The six artists on Mnet’s “Queendom” spoke about their feelings and goals as the competition gets under way.
On August 26, “Queendom” held a press conference in Seoul attended by the producing director Jo Wook Hyung, MCs Lee Da Hee and Jang Sung Kyu, and the competing artists AOA, (G)I-DLE, Lovelyz, MAMAMOO, Oh My Girl, and Park Bom.
When asked to talk about their resolution in terms of appearing on the show, AOA said, “We’ve prepared a variety of performances with diverse styles, so we hope that the viewers enjoy watching.”
(G)I-DLE said, “It’s an honor for us to be able to be on the same stage as these senior artists through ‘Queendom.’ As the youngest artists, we’re aiming to develop and show how we’re working hard.”
Lovelyz promised, “Through ‘Queendom,’ we’re going to show various sides of ourselves that we haven’t shown yet.”
MAMAMOO commented, “As we said at our concert before, there’s no such thing as ‘the exact same performance’ in MAMAMOO’s dictionary. Just like that, we’re going to be showing cool and great performances on ‘Queendom’ too. Thank you.” The MC for the event clarified that while Wheein was unable to attend the event due to health issues, she will be taking part in the competition with the group.
Oh My Girl said, “Since this is our first time doing a survival show we’re really nervous. But as a group that takes on a lot of different concepts, we’re going to show many concepts as well as our hidden charms.”
Park Bom said, “I’m nervous to be taking part in a competition program and it’s fun.”
The show “Queendom” is a “comeback battle” featuring six female artists releasing singles on the same day at the same time to compete on music charts. The first episode will air on August 29 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
