tvN Responds After Kim Soo Hyun’s Cameo In “Hotel Del Luna” Leads To Hopes For Potential 2nd Season
Will we be seeing Kim Soo Hyun continue to open the doors to “Hotel Blue Moon” in the future?
On September 1, the final episode of tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna” aired and the final moments had everyone talking about a potential second season.
When the 12 divine Ma Go beings gather, the first (played by Seo Yi Sook) says, “I’ve brought a very surprising new owner to the moon’s lodgings. Because the story of the moon’s lodgings must continue.” She then goes on to say, “What was the name of the new hotel again?” and reveals that it is “Hotel Blue Moon,” which is looking a little different from the hotel run by Jang Man Wol (played by IU).
A man is seen walking past employees and then up a flight of stairs to reveal that it is none other than Kim Soo Hyun. He is wearing a clean-cut suit and holding a glass of alcohol as he says, “The moon has risen. It’s time to start business.”
The short cameo appearance had people buzzing and wondering whether tvN had plans for a second season starring Kim Soo Hyun in the works. To this, a source from tvN said, “We haven’t discussed anything about a second season yet,” and continued, “It’s difficult for us to give an answer on whether there will be a second season or not because the staff hasn’t ever discussed the possibility of a second season.” They concluded with, “We believe this is an expression of our viewers’ love and support for the drama so we are grateful for it.”
The last episode of “Hotel Del Luna” recorded 12 percent in viewership ratings as it came to an end. This is not only the highest ratings for the drama itself, but the highest ratings recorded by a tvN drama this year.
