BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah” Becomes 1st K-Pop Debut MV Ever To Hit 700 Million Views

BLACKPINK’s debut music video has made YouTube history yet again!

On September 11, shortly before 7 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for “BOOMBAYAH” surpassed 700 million views on YouTube—making it the very first K-pop debut music video ever to do so.

“BOOMBAYAH” is also only the third K-pop group music video ever to reach the milestone, following BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and BTS’s “DNA.”

The music video for “BOOMBAYAH” was originally released on August 8, 2016 at 8 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the song just under three years, one month, two days, and 23 hours to achieve the feat.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their impressive achievement!
