Police To Question B.I Next Week For 2016 Drug Case + Investigate Yang Hyun Suk's Involvement

Former iKON member B.I. will be called in for questioning by the police next week.

On September 14, the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency confirmed that they plan to call in B.I. next week for questioning regarding allegations including his attempted purchase of marijuana and whether he has ever smoked the substance. Not only this, but the police will also investigate whether Yang Hyun Suk, the former head of YG Entertainment, became involved in the investigation to influence the outcome. This follows an announcement earlier this month that the police would be conducting their own investigation into this matter, separately from the prosecution.

In August 2016, an individual was arrested for drug violations and in the process, they testified that they had spoken with B.I about obtaining lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) before later withdrawing their testimony. When asked why they retracted their testimony, the individual claimed that Yang Hyun Suk had threatened and influenced them, and they then reported to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on suspicions of YG Entertainment and Yang Hyun Suk’s ties to the police.

A source from the police stated, “We cannot share details as the investigation is currently ongoing, but we are currently setting up a schedule with the informant, B.I, and others,” and “After obtaining their testimony, we will make sure that what they have stated is factual.”
