EXO’s Xiumin Talks About Preparing For His First Musical Role And Receiving Help From SHINee’s Onew
On September 24, “Return: The Promise of the Day” held a press conference at Bluesquare iMarket Hall in Seoul.
During the event, Xiumin shared his honest feelings about appearing in the musical, saying, “When it comes to vocalization, I’m still studying, and the production crew members are helping me out a lot too. I’m trying my best.”
The singer later talked about SHINee’s Onew, who was also cast in the musical. He revealed, “Onew, who is my senior in age, as a singer, and in the military, is teaching me a lot of things one by one, so I’m able to rely on him. Thanks to him, I was able to practice comfortably.”
Xiumin also commented, “I was working hard [as an EXO member] up until my enlistment, so after I enlisted, I thought, ‘Let’s pause and set aside the work I’ve done [until now].’ However, by the seventh week of training, I wanted to perform really badly. I had a desire to perform, and there was a great opportunity just in time, so I auditioned [for the musical].”
