Watch: Jung Yu Mi Tries To Find Herself Again As Gong Yoo Watches On In 1st Trailer For New Film

Jung Yu Mi and Gong Yoo’s upcoming film “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” has released its first trailer video!

The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name and tells the life story of a woman in her thirties who was born in 1982. Recounting the experiences and ordinary life of Kim Ji Young (Jung Yu Mi) as someone’s daughter, wife, mother, and co-worker, the novel has resonated with many and has sold over a million copies in Korea.

The new trailer shows Kim Ji Young going through her day-to-day life as a wife and mother. She says that though she is happy at times, she also feels on edge and a sense of hopeless frustration as well. Her husband Dae Hyun (played by Gong Yoo) says, “Sometimes, you become someone else” as she goes through a process of rediscovering her own identity and trying to define who she truly is.

The image of Kim Ji Young’s mother hugging her and saying, “Ji Young, do what you want to do,” as well as the tagline of the film reading, “The story that everyone knows, but also the one that no one knew,” sets up a story that people will relate to and be comforted by.

“Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” is set to be released in October.
