AOA's Seolhyun Comments On Returning With 1st Drama In 4 Years + Appearing On

AOA’s Seolhyun spoke about her promotions as an actress and a singer.

Seolhyun currently appears on Mnet’s comeback survival show “Queendom” and will be starring in JTBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “My Country.” At the drama’s press conference on October 2, Seolhyun was asked how she deals with juggling both at the same time, as it must be tiring.

Seolhyun said with a smile, “When something I have to do is right in front of me, I’m not the type to think that it’s tiring. I also wondered if it might be hard when I looked at the tight schedule, but the atmosphere is so good on set that my endorphins soared. I also thought, ‘My stamina is better than I thought.'”

“My Country” will mark Seolhyun’s return to the world of dramas for the first time in four years after KBS 2TV’s “Orange Marmalade” in 2015. About portraying the confident heroine Han Hee Jae who stands up against injustice, Seolhyun stated, “There is some pressure, but I used the feeling of responsibility of wanting to do well in order to try my best. Because [the cast and crew] always supported and trusted me, I was able to film with confidence.”

This upcoming JTBC series takes place at the end of Goryeo Dynasty and the beginning of Joseon Dynasty and tells the story of conflicts that arise due to people’s desire for power and protection. It’s a collaboration between director Kim Jin Won of “The Innocent Man” and “Just Between Lovers,” and writer Chae Seung Dae of “The Master of Revenge.”

“My Country” stars Yang Se Jong, Woo Do Hwan, and Seolhyun, and premieres on October 4 at 10:50 p.m. KST. Check out the latest teaser here.
