Super Junior Tops KKBOX's Korean Albums Chart In Taiwan For 100 Consecutive Weeks
Super Junior has hit an amazing milestone of staying on top of the Korean albums chart for 100 consecutive weeks on KKBOX!
KKBOX is Taiwan’s biggest online music site and Super Junior has achieved the feat across two albums. The group released their eighth studio album “Play” on November 6, 2017 and topped the charts for 23 weeks from the release date till April 12, 2018. Then, they released the repackaged eighth studio album “Replay” on April 12, 2018, and has topped the charts for 77 weeks till the latest charts on October 3, adding up to an accumulative 100 weeks.
Super Junior currently has a record of the longest amount of time on KKBOX’s Korean charts, spending 121 weeks on the Korean singles chart from June 2010 to September 2012. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if their upcoming ninth studio album “Time_Slip,” which will be released on October 14, will help them set a new record.
Earlier this year in January, Super Junior made history as the first foreign-language artists to win Artist of the Year at the KKBOX Music Awards.
The music video for “I Think I,” a track from the upcoming album, which was released on October 4, trended worldwide on Twitter, showing how much fans are excited for the comeback. Super Junior will be holding their “Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 8” concert on October 12 and 13 at the KSPO Dome, and will then release their “Time_Slip” album on October 14 at 6 p.m. KST.
Congratulations to Super Junior on the amazing achievement!
