Park Ji Hoon's Agency Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters

Park Ji Hoon’s agency Maroo Entertainment has announced that they have moved forward with legal action against netizens defaming Park Ji Hoon with false rumors and malicious comments online.

Here is the agency’s full statement, posted on Twitter:

Hello, this is Maroo Entertainment.

First, we’d like to thank fans for continuously reporting [issues] to us and for their patience. We are writing to inform you of the current status of our legal action against false rumors and malicious comments being posted about Park Ji Hoon.

We are currently taking legal action against false rumors and malicious comments defaming Park Ji Hoon.

Through monitoring by our company as well as tips received through mail, we gathered the malicious posts and submitted them to the law firm Gangnam.

The posts were reviewed, and we submitted an official lawsuit for charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

Netizens that defamed our agency artists were summoned by police for questioning, and they are now waiting to be forwarded to prosecutors. We ask for your understanding regarding this late notice, as we were working to uncover the identities of the suspects.

In order to protect our artists in the future, we will continue to monitor for indiscriminate distribution of falsehoods, personal attacks, or defamatory behavior that goes beyond just personal opinion, and we will take legal action.

There will be no leniency or settlements, and we will do our best to protect our artists.

We thank everyone for their support for Park Ji Hoon, and we ask for your continued love and support for Park Ji Hoon on his path as a singer and actor.

Maroo Entertainment pursued similar legal action against netizens posting malicious comments last year, which they revealed resulted in many perpetrators being found guilty in court.
