JYJ's Kim Junsu And NU'EST's Minhyun Win At 2019 Stagetalk Audience Choice Awards

The 2019 Stagetalk Audience Choice Awards has announced this year’s winners!

The annual awards are chosen by audience members themselves and put a spotlight on the most beloved works and performers in Korean theater that year. 3,452 people voted in the plays category this year and 33,110 people voted in the musical category.

The award for a premiere production of an original musical went to “The Return” while the award for an encore production of an original musical went to “The Days.”

The top premiere of a musical that’s a licensed production was “King Arthur,” while the top encore of a licensed musical was “Marie Antoinette.”

JYJ’s Kim Junsu takes the Best Actor award after returning to the stage after his military discharge to reprise the role of Der Tod (Death) in the musical “Elisabeth.” Kim Junsu received 28.1 percent of the votes, and he was followed by Cho Seung Woo with 19.7 percent, Park Eun Tae with 15.2 percent, Hong Kwang Ho with 8.6 percent, and Cho Hyung Kyun with 4.4 percent.

NU’EST’s Minhyun grabs the Best New Actor award for his performance in his debut musical “Marie Antoinette.” He received 37.3 percent of votes, and was folllowed by EXO‘s Xiumin (23.3 percent), SEVENTEEN‘s DK (19.8 percent), Yang Hee Jun (7.3 percent), and Yoon Ji Sung (4.9 percent).

The Best Actress award went to Kim So Hyang, Jung Eun Ah took the Best Supporting Actress award, Park Kang Hyun received the Best Supporting Actor award, and the Best New Actress award went to Kim Yeon Ji.

The Best Ensemble award went to the cast of “Marie Antoinette.”
