Munhwa Ilbo did not reveal the full Top 100 list, but it did share some more rankings on the chart. Among English pop songs, Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” is No. 17, Naomi Scott’s “Speechless” from the “Aladdin” OST is No. 28, Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” is No. 40, and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” is No 63. It’s described that there are 15 English pop songs in the Top 100. Genie Music stated, “This is the first time since Genie’s music services were launched that an English pop song has taken first on the yearly chart.”

Seven songs in the Top 10 alone are ballads, and Munhwa Ilbo noted how there has been a large controversy in the past year over allegations of chart manipulation after ballads even managed to take high rankings on charts during the summer when dance songs are usually bigger hits.

Four out of the Top 10 songs are by female singers. Girl group tracks in the Top 100 include ITZY’s “DALLA DALLA” at No. 17, TWICE’s “FANCY” at No. 32, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” at No. 44, TWICE’s “YES or YES” at No. 46, and MAMAMOO’s “gogobebe” at No. 73.

BTS is the only boy group in the Top 10, and their track “Boy With Luv” spent 26 days at No. 1 on Genie’s daily chart. BTS’ “Spring Day” is also at No. 69 on the chart for 2019 and “IDOL” is at No. 71.

Other than BTS, the only boy group in the Top 100 is WINNER, whose song “Millions” is at No. 95.

The Director of Genie Music Hong Sang Wook added, “Steady sellers that have received love for a long time have taken the high ranking spots on the yearly chart, and the popularity of ballads and English pop songs was remarkable.” He shared, “In the Top 100, there are 39 ballads, 15 English pop songs, nine dance songs, nine indie songs, 8 rap/hip-hop songs, and seven drama OSTs.”
