BTS won the Album Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 29th Seoul Music Awards!

The event was held on January 30 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, with MCs Jo Bo Ah, Shin Dong Yup, and Super Junior’s Kim Heechul.

Although BTS was not able to attend, they received two awards that evening, including the Album Daesang for “Map of the Soul: Persona” and a Bonsang (Main Award).

This is the third year in a row that BTS has won a Daesang from the Seoul Music Awards, and it’s the first year that the ceremony has divided the winners into physical album and digital music categories. Taeyeon received the Digital Daesang.

BTS sent a video message to thank everyone for the award. Jungkook shared that it was an honor to receive the Daesang and they wanted to share the honor with many people, while Jin commented on how much love their April album “Map of the Soul: Persona” has received. “Thank you to everyone who listens to and loves our music,” he said.

“And to our ARMY who always watches over us and supports us, thank you so much for always being a great source of support for us,” said J-Hope. “You know we love you a lot, right?”

V went on to thank others including Bang Shi Hyuk and their Big Hit staff, and RM expressed thanks and wished the best to everyone involved in the Seoul Music Awards, including the artists, fans, and viewers.
